are you better?
there’s lots of ways to answer that, my friend. in terms of “calm this anxious mind”, the anxiousness comes and goes. “calm this anxious mind” is just a mantra of mine. so, yeah i’m better than i was this morning :)
(URL origin) okay so when i was little…
i always liked being right (sound familiar? not much has changed). and my mom had a wonderful saying that always made me stop and think. i’d get into a pointless argument about how i thought things were supposed to be, and my mother would just smile at me in that “just try me” way, and say “well, do you wanna be right or do you want to be happy”?
that question actually resonates within me now more recently in these last few years than it ever did when i was small; when you’re older, you realize how important it is to be happy, and sometimes being right won’t lead to being happy. so, i work on just letting go.
so yeah, that’s where my URL title comes from
do u ever
look back on things or people that used to make you happy (but don’t any more)?
Are you happy because you were happy? Or are you ashamed that it ever made you happy? Or are you sad that things have changed?
